The Delaware County Master Gardener volunteers are sponsoring a seminar to educate the public on the critical issues facing pollinators and what every gardener can do to help.
Pollinators help provide much of our food and are essential to our well-being. Almost 80% of
the 1,400 crop plants grown around the world require pollination by insects and other animals.
Alarmingly, their future is in question. Farming methods, habitat loss, pesticide overuse, and
disease are causing significant declines of many pollinators. There are important things we can
all do to help ensure their survival. Join us on April 16 for what could be the most important
information you will learn all year.
Our guest speaker is Denise Ellsworth who is the Program Director, Honeybee and Native
Pollinator Education at The Ohio State Department of Entomology, Wooster campus. Denise is
a well-known advocate for pollinators and speaks across the state on this topic.
Please join us on April 16, 2016 at the Board of Elections Building, 2079 U.S. Hwy 23 N.
